Pictures of my budgies when they first came home

Here are Monty and Eric from back in November 2009. Monty darted out of his carry box as soon as we placed it in the cage but Eric held back for a while.

Roswell has always been a bit of a looker as you can see.  Here he is from back in January when my husband brought him and Snowy home.

Even thought we got them at the same time from the same breeder they did not get on at first, thankfully they do now – most of the time.

Jerry was rocking back and forth in his cardboard carry box when I first put it down on the sofa as I opened the cage doors.

He sprung out of the box when I placed it in the cage and went straight to the mirror and started singing and bashing away at it.

It was obvious from the start that he was a bit of a live-wire!

In the pet shop that we got Jerry from he was housed with a pair of budgies (male/female couple) and they were picking on him and obviously didn’t want him around.  I really had my heart set on a green budgie so it was quite lucky for me and him. Also very lucky for Roswell to have a new playmate!



I have never seen one of these shiny things before but I like it. My new abode will do.

Monty being naughty, what a surprise!

Currently Monty is berating Jerry, dancing and hopping around him and telling him off. We think this is because it’s started to rain and Monty holds Jerry firmly responsible for this catastrophe.

Jerry is just standing there on the roof of the Summer Palace looking pudgy and pretending the whole thing doesn’t bother him.

Uh-oh Roswell has flown over to investigate so Monty has stopped berating Jerry and gone to the corner of the roof to swear under his breath, he can’t actually talk but when he starts doing high pitched squawks to himself I always imagine he’s swearing and calling Jerry a “little green B*stard”  or some such crudity. :)

Here are some pictures of Monty being a very naughty boy from earlier.. he climbed on the Budgie window screen and started biting it. Normally something only Roswell and Jerry do!

Snowy has been going about his daily business, eating, preening getting on with being a budgie and doing budgie things. Roswell has been following him around trying to become his best friend for the day, this is annoying Jerry who is getting really jealous and trying to chase Snowy away. Which of course is annoying Monty so he’s standing up on the rack with his feet as far apart as the little chap can manage. He is doing his best “I’m so huge I look like I have been riding a big horse, don’t mess with me” which is really funny because he’s the tiniest of all the budgies.

I got some really cute photos of Monty and Snowy preening each others head feathers, I wonder if they realise how sweet they look, probably not.

We aren't cute, we’re just doing what budgies do, alright?

 

It was very hard to get a pose from Roswell today, he just wouldn’t stay still long enough. I tried and tried and he just wanted out of the cage in the end, so I let him and left it at that.

I went out and did some shopping today and saw these teething rings, thought they were ideal for hanging off of things for the budgies.

Roswell can do impressions, it’s uncanny – Tommy Cooper was resurrected today!

“Just like that” said Roswell as he did his best impersonation.

 

Monty “I might be stretching but I still have my eye on you”

 

“Look here pink thing, this is only going one way, I am going to take you DOWN!” said Monty before he dropped the tiny pink spinning top of terror off the roof of the Summer palace.

Vegetable Monster

The budgies needed to give me a new way to amuse myself today so they used their budgie mind tricks and laser vision to make me invent a weird tower of vegetables.

Then they had a meeting about it, which Monty decided to over-see from a distance

Then they knocked it over and pounced on it like a pack of hungry savages, but I don’t have any photos of that

Beautiful Blonde

Today the budgies have been enjoying some “Me time” “ME ME ME” screams Monty.

We have been out for a few hours today so they have had the front room to themselves, although as usual, when we got back they were all sitting in the cage together quiet as Church mice.   This always makes me think they were up to something.. a bit like Andy and Lou on little Britain, the moment our backs are turned they’re zooming about using my laptop for target practice :)
