I can't find him anywhere!

Oh....

There he is!

Monty keeps an eye on Snowy and Roswell

Today Monty wanted to make sure his bird (Snowy) wasn't getting too flirty with Roswell, so he kept a close eye on them both.

Roswell got quite excited and started trying to put his foot on Snowy.

It's funny to think that when we brought them both home in January 2010 they weren't that keen on each other even though they are from the same place.

These days they like to muck around and play together.

Pic 1 - "What are those two up to?" asks Monty
Pic 2 - "I am just not that kind of bird" says Snowy to Roswell

They came...

Well what else would nine feathery fiends get up to on a Sunny Monday afternoon?

Sunny Basil day (and some not so good photos from my mobile phone)

My Camera is in use by an other today so I used my mobile phone to get some quick snaps of the birdies - well tried to, they're not the best at keeping still and I don't have a very steady hand (must be all the coffee .. oops)

What a beautiful day it is, birds have had a bath and some basil and maybe if they're good (!) might get millet later - I like to give them a millet day at least once a week.

Look how wonderful Hectors plumage looks even with my rubbish phone taking the pics, he is a handsome budgie. Naughty as well but aren't they all?

Bought some cage clips from Riversway Online (http://www.riverswayonline.co.uk/) and they arrived today - only 39p each, I am very pleased with them and only ordered them yesterday morning. Put in another order for some cuttlefish holders, salad racks (yes I didn't even realise there was such a thing for a bird cage!) and 3 tiny finger draws!

I love receiving stuff in the post (especially for the budgies, even if they're not as excited about it as me) and I am sure it's going to be great quality!

Gotta go, Lilek keeps biting my hands as I type and I need to wash up!

Just the two of us, you and I

It's good to have a budgie buddy.

Blueboy and Hector are very cute together, they preen, feed and take care of each other. Budgies are sociable little fellows being flock creatures and enjoy each others company immensely.

Right now they are chasing one and another around the budgie playground, Blueboy stops to give a budgie "high five Kissy-face" to Hector now and again and then they are on their merry way.

All day is play-time o clock with these two.

I'm just a girl

What a lovely sunny bright day it is today, and HOT (22 degrees Celcius ... in April!) I am so glad (and I am sure that the birds are too) that we made the Window Screen last summer so that we can fully open a window and let the breeze and and allow some air to circulate. We need to make one for the other front room window so that we can have the full experience!

I am sprouting some seeds for the budgies - Alfalfa Sprouts, so that they can have something tasty and nutritious to eat. It'll take a couple of days but it's worth it and costs next to nothing!

The husband kindly put the budgie play-ground structure back together for me (well for the budgies really) today so I took advantage of this by pegging Basil to it for them and they enjoyed this a lot. Especially Snowy as he did what he always does, climbs up, nibbles on the stalks and throws the leaves to the floor!

Had to put a huge pink water bottle in Budgingham Palace as the little blue one kept leaking and soaking the newspaper, I am sure that this had absolutely nothing to do with the budgies penchant for climbing all over it and biting it. So far the pink monstrosity hasn't leaked so fingers and wings crossed that it stays that way.

The birds had a very sleepy afternoon after their Basil Munch but they are now in full evening song - today's song of choice on Kerrang is "I'm just a girl" by No Doubt!

Monty seems to particularly like the lyric "Oh I've had it up to here" :)

Lots of photos and a millet day!

Got a lot of photos of the birds to show :)

Roswell has been posing for the camera as he's a very photogenic budgie, must be the "show bird" in him!

Dumpling has been going to his favourite corner demanding head scratches from me.

The budgies had a massive millet feast yesterday in the Summer Palace, I like to treat them with a millet day now and again and they really enjoy it. I got a great photo of them all in (and on!) the summer palace, see if you can spot and name all nine!

Little Custard is still following Roswell around and flapping at poor Jerry whenever he gets near to his old buddy. Jerry still manages to occasionally feed and preen Roswell much to Custards annoyance!

My King Monty is doing his best to show all the other birds that he is the boss by flapping around them, staring at them and generally running rings around them and us!

Quite often I will hear him call to me, turn round to look at him and he'll fly off, he does it so often that I get neck ache, little b*gger. He also landed on my head yesterday - you'll be trying to have a serious conversation or concentrate on something and he'll suddenly flap past you and jump on your bonce :)

Sunny day makes for nine lively fiends

Why is it that the sun makes my budgies ten times more lively and boisterous than they normally would be? I guess it's a good thing, it means that they feel energetic and happy!

They had some carrot, baby corn and mange tout which especially Snowy seemed to really enjoy, he has the equivalent of a sweet tooth, I suppose that would be a "sweet beak" and loves carrot.

Monty has been berating the poor very moulty green Jerry, as usual!

Here are pics..

Spied on by a bird, Dumpling takes a dip, Hitchcock eat your heart out!

Yesterday I was standing at the sink washing up and I heard a squawk followed by lots of high pitched calls. I turned to look behind me and I saw little Dumpling (aka Lilek) staring round the corner at me, he was sitting on the edge of the mirror ledge watching me.

Of course I had to run and get the camera as he looked quite cute and curious - the cheeky little monkey. In the end I had to close the kitchen door to finish the washing up in case he came into the kitchen and tried to "help".

He also had a little shower under the tap later on too, turns out he loves the sound of running water :)

See my birds, they are many and I am few, they like to stare down and me and wonder what I taste like with stew. Well not really but look at this picture of eight of them looking down at me, reminiscent of Hitchcocks "The Birds"

We still have major broadband issues (Thanks Orange) so I can only upload small photos I'm afraid til we're fully back online on 7th March.

Enjoy the photos - hope you and yours are well.

Custard moves in with Roswell and Jerry, Dumpling on a Swing, Double Trouble

Custard has now moved into Budgingham Palace with Roswell and Jerry. It seemed such a shame to keep her away from Roswell at night seeing as she seems to dote on him so much so we decided not to!

I made up a little girly corner for her with her Olympic rings and a pink mirror although so far Jerry seems to love it a bit more than she does!

So far so good although night times are awkward as Jerry likes to leap about a lot before he settles down and this unsettles Custard. No danger of moving Jerry out though as he does this wherever he is put the little naughty Green boy. Besides he's Roswell's best mate so it would be a trifle unfair.

Lilek AKA Dumpling has been playing on the Parrot toy swing that arrived with him all those months ago, we have also seen Monty and Roswell take a liking to it.

I caught a frightening photo of Lilek earlier, it looked like there were two of him - two "Dumpling's" nipping at my toes would be too much even for me to tolerate!

Pouting, Preening and messing about

Lots of photos as I managed to find some old batteries in the "spares" pot that actually powered my intensive juice-sucking camera for long enough to take a few shots and upload to my PC.

1/ Oooh Roswell aren't you big and strong

Custard admires the big Grey fella.

2/ What is this stuff?

Jerry dives in and makes faces at the treats laid on for the fiends.

3/ Monty knew it was time to give up smoking when the munchies had almost run out

I want the worlds biggest bag of crisps man!

4/ Sky is just hanging around

Being nosey!

5/ I am waiting for you

Lilek waits with intent on my husbands chair - hoping for some toast crumbs.

6/ A Moulty Custard

Custard looks a little ragged but still very pretty and fluorescent.

7/ Custard singing

If I sing a song then Roswell might come and pay attention to me.

8/ Preen me Blue-boy

Hector makes his demands clear.

Snowy's ball never lets him down

Snowy has had a little nap with his ball this evening, they first had a chat about their day and then cuddled up for a lovely little snooze.

But were woken from their slumber by some Christmas music on the radio which all of the birds felt they should sing to - "Winter Wonderland" I believe.

Doesn't he look adorable?

He's playing Kissy-face currently with Monty and also his green ball-ball.

Keys are exciting

Lilek has come out of his shell so much more in the last few days, I have even managed to handle him a fair bit - he has the most razor sharp bite but he also gives little nibbles which I think are meant to be affectionate!

Monty has shown a few signs of being jealous of all the attention that Lilek has been getting, so he sneaked into a photo my husband took of Lilek on my hand, just flew over to see what was going on.

Came back from my shower today to find Monty, Jerry, Roswell and Snowy all lined up on the arm of the sofa next to where I sit with my laptop. Maybe they were waiting for millet?

Yesterday all of the budgies ventured onto the sofa to watch Lilek play with his keys and nibble on the remote controls. They're getting so more adventurous since the arrival of Lilek, have to double check where I step and sit to make sure I don't flatten one of the little tykes..
