Basil, Dill, Baths and millet

The fiends have been spoilt today.

We have given them millet pegged up in the summer palace, a bath (Snowy, Jerry and Roswell got absolutely soaked!) and I pegged up some Basil and Dill for them to munch on and chuck all over the place as they do.

I'll clean the mess up later on when I have the energy.

Here are some photos..

Happy Valentines day!

Today I have made the birds a lovely egg, broccoli, Dill and carrot heart shaped food plate thingy for dinner. So far they are a bit scared of it and only Monty has ventured over to have a look.

They're tired and moulty so I thought I would mix up something special for them - there is more in the fridge for tomorrow - I am sure they'll be over soon to sample it!

It's been a bit of a crap day today - if you go on over to my personal blog (http://mariannemarlow.wordpress.com) you can read all about it.

For now here are some pics!

Come and join the pool party

The boys have enjoyed a bit of a pool party this morning, with a Dill Cocktail each they made their way to the top of the Summer palace (seems ironic calling it that considering the weather at the moment - 16 degrees and cloudy according to my PC)

As you can see they had a lot of fun splashing about - especially Snowy, who did his little duck impression and waddled in and out of the water several times.

It's all go for the budgies

The sun is out and the budgies are very lively, it's a good job because they have so much to do today.

I hope that they can make time for their rigorous schedule of preening, playing, singing, squawking, flying and of course eating!

Their day started some time ago when they were uncovered and presented with their usual treats of Dill, Carrot, Babycorn and Cress. Of course they have their Trill budgie seed and a smattering of Harrisons superfine bird pellets thrown in.

They have since tucked in, made a mess and left me little presents everywhere, it's very kind of them and I look forward to many more throughout the day.

Piccys from this morning..

Budgie Forest

Today the budgies decided to enter in to the wilderness known as the budgie forest which I created for them on top of the summer palace.

Immediately Jerry jumped on to the top of the pot of chives and claimed himself to be a budgie prince.

Snowy was far too busy stuffing his beak with Dill to even notice.

Meanwhile Roswell tried to hide behind the Dill and Monty struggled to reach it, until he realised he could climb.

All budgies thoroughly enjoyed and continue to enjoy biting on the little wooden branch climbing frame while munching on some green stuff.

Giving the birds a break from the Evil yellow stuff

I think I'll give the birds some dill today, maybe it'll help calm them down, ha!

Either way it'll make the room smell nice and fresh and more importantly give the birds something new to do :)

CORN! - ATTACK!!

Look, they’re asleep…sssshhhh

sleepy birds 001

Not right now unfortunately, this was taken last month – don’t worry they have slept since then!

I just wanted to show what the birds look like when they are quiet and not causing mayhem.

I moved the small plastic budgie from their summer cage to the playground and Monty has been teaching it a lesson.

Monty “Listen small plastic budgie, this is the way things are done around here”

In case you were wondering, they did eventually decided to demolish yesterdays Dill, they were just waiting until they thought I had put the camera away – but I am sneaky..

Don't Dilly Dally on the way

Look at this lovely Dill.  Looks nice doesn’t it, all misty and fresh and SCARY!

I thoroughly expect the budgies to go straight over to the Dill and start happily chewing away when I have posted this blog update, that is just what happens!

Dill 9-7-10

The budgies wont go near it for more than five minutes at the moment, maybe they think it’s a tiny Christmas tree and I’ll expect them to sing me Carrols or something?

Will they or wont they pluck up the courage to have a small nibble?

Monty seems to want to stick to Broccoli for now…

On a completely separate note, this is Roswell’s new trick from yesterday evening.  I praised him for standing on the wire and ball of their play centre, so the next couple of times I came over he climbed to the top again and looked pleased with himself waiting to be showered with more talk of being a “Good boy, “Clever Boy” – of course I gladly complied :-)

A very clever boy
