The budgies are really spiky at the moment. Their poor little heads must be really itchy.
Dumpling keeps trying to get me to preen him every time I go over to see him.
I made them some egg food:
Here is how I put it together:
Hard boil an egg for 25 minutes then cool it, cut it in half and peel off the shell.It has to be properly hard boiled otherwise your birds can get ill.

Carrot, Broccoli and hard boiled egg
Grate about 2 inches worth of peeled carrot, and a washed floret of broccoli along with the egg into a bowl.

Grated ingredients
OPTIONAL: I added a pinch of "Guardian Angel" as I had some handy but you don't have to do this.
Mix it all together and serve.

Simple to make and very nutritious for your birds, moulting means that they need extra protein in order to produce new feathers.
IMPORTANT: Don't leave this out for more than a couple of hours and make sure you remove any traces of vegetable and egg that have been thrown around by the birds.

How about doing a continually updated thread on the forum - a cookery column - for budgies. With the recipes and photos n' stuff? Oui?
